We are recruiting for the following positions:

Math & ELA Instructional Coach for 3rd Grade-8th Grade

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION: The Instructional Coach is a critical lever in improving student
achievement. The role of the coach is to build teacher capacity and their understanding of instructional
practices as related to Common Core and Data Driven Instruction. An instructional coach is a learner who
models continuous improvement, lifelong learning, and goes above and beyond to ensure student success.
All instructional coaches work collaboratively as a team. Instructional coaches will promote reflection,
provide guidance and structure where needed, and focus on strengths, collaboration and common issues of
concern. They are responsible for ensuring high-quality instruction in classrooms through modeling, co-planning,
co-teaching and providing feedback to teachers. The instructional coach will demonstrate and
model a passion for education reform and leadership. This is not a supervisory position and does not
include evaluation of colleagues.


Model lessons in classrooms on a daily/weekly basis.

  • Support the development of all teachers in understanding curriculum and varied assessments,
    instructional strategies, and data analysis.
  • Build strong relationships with teachers, administrators, and other coaches.
  • Provide direction and coordination for how the curriculum is taught consistent with school
    initiatives and recognized best instructional practices.
  • Create an articulated schedule with building administration.
  • Assist teachers in understanding the school’s mission and core values.
  • Provide technical support to collaborative teams within buildings.
  • Assist teachers with resources, materials, tools, information, etc. to support classroom instruction and planning, including new resources.
  • Support teachers and administrators in using data to improve instruction on all levels.
  • Assist teachers with planning and pacing of lessons, the development of differentiated lessons,
    and the selection of best practices to meet the needs of their students.
  • Support teachers by helping with the ―strategic how of teaching -- share multiple instructional
    strategies/processes with teachers during planning times.
  • Informally observe (non-evaluative) lessons and provide feedback for a teacher’s professional
    growth and students’ success.
  • Develop staff members’ knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behaviors through a variety of
    professional development targeted topics and designs.
  • Develop coaching plans for teachers to ensure student improvement.
  • Motivate adult learners to improve professional practice.
  • Contribute to the development systems and structures to improve teacher practice within schools.
  • Provide job-embedded informal professional learning beyond the coaching responsibility.


Administrative Support:

  • Attend professional development training and provide campus level professional development
  • initiatives.
  • Provide ongoing feedback to administration to be used in the teacher evaluation process.
  • Assist with the campus strategic plan and formulation of the continued vision of A.C.E.
  • Academy.
  • Assist in the development, monitoring, and implementation of teacher intervention plans.
  • Submit a weekly coaching log and any pertinent data requests/coaching documentation.

  • Certified in a specific teaching area.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience teaching, with a record of successfully impacting student
  • achievement and working successfully with students who have the greatest needs.
  • Proven ability to work cooperatively and effectively with colleagues, including the ability to
  • create and nurture a professional community of adult learners.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities and strong interpersonal skills, including giving and receiving
  • constructive feedback.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to utilize student-level data to guide instructional decisions.
  • Demonstrated Teacher Leadership.
  • General knowledge of all elementary and middle school curriculum areas.
  • Specific knowledge of assigned grade levels and/or content areas and state assessments.
  • Demonstrated organizational and technology skills.
  • Models continual improvement, demonstrates lifelong learning, and applies new learning to help
  • all students achieve.
  • Demonstrates evidence of professional growth, including leadership and participation in a wide
  • range of significant professional development activities.

 K-8 Grade Licensed ELA, Math & Science Teachers

Teacher Competencies:
  • Present lessons in a comprehensive manner and use visual/audio means to facilitate learning
  • Providing individualized instruction to each student by promoting interactive learning
  • Create and distribute educational content (notes, summaries, assignments etc.)
  • Collaborate with other teachers, parents and stakeholders and participate in regular meetings
  • Plan and execute educational in-class and outdoor activities and events
  • Observe and understand students’ behavior and psyche and report suspicions of neglect, abuse etc.
  • Thorough knowledge of teaching best practices and legal educational guidelines partnered with a willingness to follow the school’s policies and procedures
  • Excellent communicability and interpersonal skills
  • Well-organized and committed to teaching creatively with consist high energy
  • Demonstrate high ethical standards
  • Assess and record students’ progress and provide grades and feedback
  • Maintain a tidy and orderly classroom
  • Develop and enrich professional skills and knowledge by attending seminars, conferences etc.
  • Help students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Help students work in teams and develop leadership qualities
  • Incorporate 21st century life skills into teaching deliberately, strategically, and broadly

  • Degree in teaching or in a specialized subject with a certificate in education

Elective Teachers


Foreign Language (Mandarin & Spanish)

  •   Able to teacher Chinese (Mandarin) to K-8 students with a 21st century environment
  •   Help students develop a respect and reasonable knowledge of the Chinese culture
  •   Give students a chance to learn a secondary language that will be globally useful
  •   Additional teaching responsibilities are including under  teacher competencies

Music Teacher

  • Must have proficiency in at least one musical instrument, be able to read music, and have experience in teaching elementary and middle school students.  
  • Ability to teach skills in music understanding/appreciation, harmony, explorations in music and choral music to elementary and middle school students
  • Plans/executes a balanced music program and organizes class time so that preparation, rehearsal and instruction can be accomplished within the allotted time.
  • Provides individual and small group instruction in order to adapt the music curriculum to the needs of each pupil. Encourages students to develop individual musical skills to the greatest extent possible
  • Utilizes repertoire of all types of music literature, including traditional and contemporary that are appropriate for the ages and skill levels of pupils.
  • Maintains care/responsibility for school-owned music, musical instruments and equipment to prevent loss or abuse. Makes minor adjustments and requests repairs to instruments as required.
  • Evaluates each pupil’s musical growth, performance, and musical understanding

   Art Teacher
  • Teach knowledge and skills in art, including drawing, painting, lettering, and art history
  • Instruct students in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of the school
  • Provide instruction by which students develop aesthetic concepts and appreciations
  • and the ability to make qualitative judgments about art
  • Demonstrate techniques in activities such as drawing and painting
  • Understand the versatility of acrylic paints: dry brushing, staining, layering, under painting, mono printing


    Technology Instructor

  • Introducing basic computer, keyboard and Internet skills
  • Teaching students how to use design applications, computer-aided drafting (CAD) or manufacturing to develop technological solutions to problems
  • Assigning projects so that students learn to deal with real-world constraints, such as time and materials
  • Allowing students to unravel technological problems using a hands-on, trial-and-error approach
  • Encouraging creative thinking with challenging classroom projects
  • Helping students connect math, science and technological principles to everyday life
  • Ability to teach advanced classes in software programming, hardware, web design and programming, data processing or more advanced office programs.
  • Explore laboratory experiments for technology education students can be more complex and might involve one or more of the following: animation,automotive technology, computer programming, digital photography, electronics, lasers and multimedia applications



Entrepreneur Instructor
  • Ability to teach the fundamentals of entrepreneurship (e.g., concept generation and development, business planning and goal setting, initial investment partnerships, networking, start-up logistics, etc.)
  • Assist and mentor students in areas including: development of business plans and related projects, problem solving, generation of workflow concepts, market planning and risk analysis.
  • Serve as a liaison to the external entrepreneurial community
  • Create circumstances for learning outside the classroom through business partnerships
  • Demonstrate excellence in pedagogy, strong communication and interpersonal skills and a desire to work with students and student clubs and organizations.

Substitute Teacher (On-Call)
  • Substitute teachers perform the duties of a teacher to provide continuity in the classroom in a teacher's absence, as well as: Provide instruction according to the plans prepared by the classroom teacher
  • Maintain a classroom environment which promotes active learning
  • Conduct all aspects of the daily routine, including distributing and collecting supplies, keeping attendance records, performing assigned duties, etc.
  • Work with students to reinforce learning objective.
  • Adhere to all A.C.E. Academy policies and procedures
  • Uses appropriate judgment to act in the best interest of the students at all times
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator

Work hours range from 8:00 a.m.- 6:00 p.m.
Compensation range: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour based on experience
Summary of Responsibilities: Seeking part time tutors to teach students in small groups, provide individual support to students, co teach some lessons with teachers,  analyze pupils' work and assist teachers. Communicates and interacts with students, teachers, principal and assistant principal. Distributes and collects materials to teachers daily. Maintains appropriate records, and follows required procedures and practices for reporting.

Qualifications: BA/BS degree with two years outstanding teacher and/or management experience. Other combinations of applicable education, training, and experience.
